Practice and connect at community events

We host guest speakers, career fairs, and job clubs throughout the month. Events are open to all members of our community.

Speaker Series

Once a month, Wednesdays

Our Speaker Series provides a unique opportunity to connect our clients with diverse professionals, community leaders, career coaches, talent acquisition experts, and other industry leaders (often from our community partner network).

All speakers have a shared mission based on the belief that people with disabilities can and should work, and bring talent, perspective, and innovation to the workforce. The content for these sessions covers a wide range of topics critical for all who are navigating the complex world of job searching, networking, accommodation needs, and understanding one’s rights as a disabled worker.

Career Fairs

Twice a month, Wednesdays

Career Fairs offer our clients a chance to meet employers, practice networking, establish professional relationships, and discuss potential job opportunities. Many employers from a variety of industries attend, and we host both general and specialized career fair events one to two times a month.

Participating employers have a 30-minute timeslot for visitors to meet with recruiters and other representatives of the company. They are able to share the who, what, where, why, and how of the business. Presenters include their roster of current job openings and often offer guidance on the application, screening, and interview process for their particular organization.

Job Club

Every Monday

Job Club is an opportunity for clients to expand their networks, share job leads, talk through concerns about interviewing, and hold each other accountable for meeting job search activity goals. We’ve seen that clients that regularly participate in Job Club have been able to gain employment faster, through this collaborative and supportive environment. We established this service for our clients based on Orville Pierson’s book “Team Up,” which promotes the concept of pulling teams of clients together to practice networking and job search accountability.
