Meet Maddy Thomas

Maddy Thomas, a Project HIRED client, smiling at the camera.

“Project HIRED taught me how to advocate for individuals with disabilities, and it became my passion! I’m grateful Project HIRED came into my life!”

My name is Maddy Thomas. I’m hardworking, dedicated, resilient, and caring. I have cerebral palsy.

I overcame many obstacles to have a fulfilling life with a disability. I received my bachelor’s in accounting from Menlo college in 2018. My campus career counselor connected me to Project HIRED, and I got hired as an intern in 2017 and became a permanent employee. Project HIRED helped me find a job at San Jose State University in 2018. Currently, I’m a staff accountant and marketer at Project HIRED and a revenue accountant at SJSU.

I enjoy working out, traveling, shopping, exploring, and spending time with my family and friends. I’m also an Instagram blogger to share my experiences and lifestyle. I show that people with disabilities have careers, healthy lifestyles, many abilities, and great personalities. I want to make an impact and highlight we have a lot of abilities!

When asked if she would recommend Project HIRED to anyone else, Maddy said, “Yes, absolutely!”

Since 1978, Project HIRED has been an all-inclusive employment services agency, offering advocacy and empowerment programs to job seekers with disabilities. Our clients face formidable barriers, and we help them achieve job security and long-term success through job search, training, and placement services.
